The Last to Know

Renee Bernard
So, I finally blog, start poking around...and I'm realizing that I've missed more than I realized by avoiding the cyber-plane of existence.

Friends are describing the colds they have, that bizzarre guy at work's latest cubicle decoration, and insights into their lives I could never have guessed at. They share all of this online in their blogs and nowhere else... Not in phone calls or emails...

And there I was. Thinking I was a socially connected and happy camper. Now I'm thinking I was out there in a pup tent by myself and unaware that there was a raucous party (complete with hot showers and a full bar) just a meadow or two over.

Yeesh!

In my defense, I did not describe my cold in complete, technocolor-gruesome detail. I merely whined about the lack of decent drugs on the shelf at my local drug store.

Whining about your mucous again, Ferfe?

You need to ask the Pharmacist for the psudeo ephedrine. That will suck the snot right out of ya.

Renee, you're at the party now. Grab a drink and pull up a seat. :)

Airborne is very good, Ferfe. And Zycam and that MD Cold...take all that. You'll either feel better...or you'll be in a psychadelic happy place.

Poor thing.

No defense really, but I still love you.

As for the party, I've got my drink and I'm hauling out my favorite lawn chair. I may have missed the stripper, but at least I got there before the cupcakes and cookies are all gone... ;-)

It's out now, it's out now! (she blatantly cried in a sweaty panic...and then remembered it's never cool to look desperate... rats!)

I bought it yesterday, it was the only one at B&N at least that I could find. And an ARC of The School for Heiresses anthology book is on its way to me, so I shall soon have TWO books read by you.

Or at least in the TBR pile.

If your TBR pile looks like mine, then perhaps sometime in the year 2007... Why do I keep adding to my TBR pile? It's like an odd form of torture. Then I run into writer friends and have to either confess that I still haven't gotten to their masterpiece or just pray they don't ask.

Ah, sweet misery. But I can't write while I'm reading. It just doesn't work for me. So there the TBR pile grows in the corner of my office... yeesh!

Maybe I'll just ship them all to Ferfe for Christmas.
